Amba van Erkelens organizes workshops about integrating sustainability into education and works towards creating a community around this purpose. In her work as a PhD candidate at the VU, she is curiously exploring how bridges can be built to create a more sustainable society in which businesses play an important role. Inspired by practice theories, she conducts mostly ethnographic research in the fields of social-, sustainable- and circular entrepreneurship. Growing up on the island of Texel, she developed her love for nature, which serves as an inspiration in her sustainability work, whether it is conducting research or advising organisations about sustainable and circular business models..
